Adventure Expeditions 2008

Grizzly Bear 2008 Adventure Expedition special

To make it easier for groups to join us on our Adventure Expeditions we are offering the following group specials:
- Groups of 5 or more receive 10% off the entire group!
- Groups of 9 receive 1 free rider!

The most challenging and rugged trips we offer are the Adventure Expedition rides, designed for the outdoor enthusiast. New camps are established daily as the expedition penetrates further into the mountains. You will visit isolated areas of Banff National Park that few have an opportunity to experience, and travel mountain passes and valleys that are of unsurpassed beauty.

Here also is the opportunity to brush up on your camp "skills", pitch your tent, haul a bucket or two of water, and help gather fire wood. Guest participation is a very important part of these trips. A maximum of 9 guests are allowed on the moving trips and duffel is kept at a weight not exceeding 30 lbs. Click here for detailed information on what to bring, how to get here, etc.

Grizzly Bear In 1992 a wildlife corridor was established in the Spray Valley, limiting human access to the area.  This valley was designated a carnivore conservation area due to the large numbers of bears, cougars and wolves making home in this valley.  We are pleased to offer a limited number of Adventure Expeditions through this area accompanied by a Parks Canada researcher.  These interpreters will offer an inside look at the animal population of this unique corridor.

Grizzly BearWildlife Monitoring Adventure Expedition Schedule
You depart Thursday morning from our stables in Banff, and travel down Sundance Creek over Sundance Pass. The first night is spent near Eau Claire camp. Day 2 takes you through the valley, staying overnight at Fortune Camp. On day three, you'll travel along Spray Lake and head down Bryant Creek to Tall Timbers camp, where you will spend your third and fourth nights. Day four allows time for one of several spectacular day rides departing from Tall Timbers. On day five you'll ride over Allenby pass to breathtaking Halfway Meadows. After your fifth and final night, and a hearty breakfast, you'll travel home to Healy Creek pack station, where our shuttle will be waiting to take you back to Banff.

The special Expedition trip gives our guests the best of both worlds. It is designed for those who are specifically interested in wildlife in the park, while still being able to travel through spectacular mountain scenery. Join us for an unforgettable trip!
